An abundant producer of red pointed Roma-type tomatoes offering better yields and flavor than other paste tomato varieties, displaying typically thick walls and meaty flesh. This Italian Heirloom is renowned for its culinary use in sauce, paste, purée and canning. Good resistance to Fusarium and blossom end rot. DETERMINANT.
Companion plants: Basil, Parsley, Carrot, Asparagus, Alliums, Celery, Borage, Marigold, Calendula, Mint, Sage, Peppers, Dill (until mature).
Far from: Potato, Corn, Kohlrabi, Beet, Fennel, Peas, Squash.
Planting tip: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before planting. Reduce water & nitrogen when hardening off.
Harvesting tip: For best taste harvest when fully ripe, expressed its full colour. Can also harvest when tomato is green and expressed its 1st blush; if so, let tomato ripen off-vine above 21°C.
Storage tip: Store at 12-21°C, relative humidity 95%.
