Selected for intense lemony fragrance. Heirloom variety grown 100 years ago in southeastern New Mexico by a Mrs. Clifton who gave the seed to Mrs. Burns, the mother of one of the founders of Native Seeds/Search who introduced it commercially in 1983. Since then it has deservedly achieved nationwide fame.
Companion plants: Tomato, Peppers, Asparagus, Oregano, Purslane.
Far from: Rue.
Planting tip: Sow seeds 6 weeks before the last frost. Germination can take up to 8-14 days. Soaking in warm water for up to 12H is recommended for improved germination.
Harvesting tip: Pinch leaves as needed and encourages the plant to produce more. Flower impacts flavour so, harvest before. Encourage second-growth by cutting down 6” above ground.
Storage tip: Store at 0°C unwashed as washing turns them brown.
