About the Red Poinsettia
It's nearly Christmas time! And our favourite holiday plants are here to join us for the merriment. The Poinsettia's blooms are a cluster of tiny yellow flowers surrounded by large brilliant (usually red) floral bracts, which are modified leaves.
Light: Bright indirect light
Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry.
Difficulty: Moderate
Feed: Apply half strength of general-purpose fertilizer once a month at most during the growing season.
Air Purifying: Yes, known to remove formaldehyde from the air.
Toxicity: Mildly toxic to animals and humans.
Growth Rate: Moderate
Common Names: Mexican flameleaf, Christmas star, Lobster plant
Origin: Central America
