About the Lithops 'Living Stones' Plant Lithops plants are often called “living stones” but they also look a bit like cloven hooves. These plants are a plant collector's favourite! Light: Bright direct or indirect light Water:  Your lithops will need tiny amounts of water every couple of weeks, and only during the growing seasons of spring and autumn. In summer and winter, the plants go dormant and don’t need to be watered at all (unless the leaves start to wrinkle, indicating the leaf reservoir is running out of water). A teaspoon of water applied every two weeks is all you need to keep the leaves plump and happy. Difficulty: Easy Feed: Apply half strength of cactus or general-purpose fertilizer once a month at most during the growing season. Lithops are a type of succulent and are low maintenance plants that do not require a lot of supplementary feeding.    Toxicity: Non-toxic, pet-friendly. Growth Rate: Slow growing. Common Names: Living Stones, Cloven Hoof Plant Origin: Southern Africa *Please note: Plants may not look exactly as shown.
