Blooms as bright yellow flower that blooms at night and closes around noon. Used extensively medicinally in Native American culture. Very attractive to pollinators, hummingbirds by day and hawk moth by nights. Planting tip: Seed stratification is required for 2 weeks. Sow seed indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Harvesting tip: Harvest leaves in first or second year for herbal use. Leaves more potent in second year. Roots are dug in summer of the first year when still tender.
